Soft Suspension: A soft suspension is a temporary suspension of a business listing. Soft suspensions are often used to give the business owner an opportunity to correct the issue. Common reasons for soft suspensions include:

  • Inaccurate business information: This could include incorrect business hours, phone numbers, addresses, or other essential details.
  • Quality issues with photos: If users have reported issues with the photos associated with your listing, it may result in a soft suspension.
  • Ownership disputes: If multiple users claim ownership of the same business listing, Google might temporarily suspend it until ownership is verified.
Hard Suspension: A hard suspension is a more severe form of suspension. It usually occurs when a business listing has violated Google’s policies in a significant way. • Fraudulent activity: Engaging in fraudulent or illegal activities can lead to a permanent suspension.
Pending Verification or Reinstatement: In some cases, a business listing might be under review, and it is neither fully active nor suspended. This can happen when Google needs additional information to verify a listing’s authenticity or if you’ve requested reinstatement after a suspension. During this period, the listing may not appear in search results.
